And then we were on to the ceremony - a space created with amazing high ceilings adorning glass chandeliers, an incredible arched window, a piano, and balcony (for photographers and videographers mainly!) and Shannon & Ross's nuptials were beautifully hosted by Claire Watt - East Lothian Celebrant. The ceremony was personal, with lots of funny notes, intimate stories, and the 'reasons why I love you' highlight.
And after the legals were completed, it was off to the courtyard for the confetti walk. An absolute favourite moment of mine as a wedding photographer, and the wedding guests entered into the spirit with the right amount of vigour and gusto!
And then inside for some puppy love and family cuddles before escaping off into the venue provided transport, for couples photos in the Estate grounds.
And if you haven't seen it yet - the estate includes a pier onto a lake, just so that your photos can level up (and most guests wouldn't know about it, so your couple wedding photos will be an added surprise!)
And then on to dancing in the woods
before heading back to join the party for some group shots inside the ceremony room (the outdoors space is equally beautiful for group shots, but the sun was particulalry bright on this day)
Before taking the team into the bar for a seriously epic Group shot and much off camera hilarity!
It was then time to go join their party in the courtyard and do some mingling with their guests in the June sunshine.
And after some fire pit chilling, sunshine soaking, laughter fuelled, happy chatting, it was inside to the dining space for speeches and toasts - Shannon's Dad spoke, as did Ross and then on to to his twin brother for a hilarious, sincere, fabulous speech!
And then, as tradition stands, it was cake cutting and dancing.... with a few Tik Tok inspired wedding group poses thrown in for good measure (the DJ calls out each table and they have to rush to sit by the couple in the most ridiculous and unplanned or unchorerographed manner! It's great fun!)
The team at Broxmouth are professional, friendly, engaging, and an absolute joy to work alongside. They really look after their couples to make sure their day is exactly the one they have imagined, and on top of that, they take care of their suppliers - I was well fed and watered all day!
There were a host of other suppliers working on the day who were fabulous, including Dean Johnstone Filmmaker, Kilts and Trews from Gordon Nicolson Kiltmaker, Wedding dress from Emma Roy of Edinburgh, and the cakes by 3d cakes.
